The Story
I’m Benedict, a wedding filmmaker based in the Bay Area, California. I was born in the Philippines and raised in Northern California, and my perspective is shaped by both cultures and a deep appreciation for connection, family, and shared experience.
I fell in love with filmmaking in 2016 after discovering travel filmmakers like Nainoa Langer. What started as simple GoPro and iPhone videos documenting adventures with friends slowly became something more. Those early films were never just about places. They were about energy, movement, and the feeling of being fully alive in a moment.
Weddings brought that spark back with greater purpose. Instead of capturing my own experiences, I now channel that creative energy into telling someone else’s story. For me, wedding filmmaking is about preserving how love truly feels, not just how the day looked.
I’m naturally introverted, so I approach each celebration with calm presence and sensitivity. Couples often describe me as gentle and easy to work with. I believe the best moments are rarely forced. When you are fully present, you begin to notice the in between moments. The laugh before the kiss. The breath before the walk down the aisle. The quiet exchanges that might otherwise be missed.
Every wedding has its own rhythm. My role is to move with it, not control it. Real life, with all its imperfections, is what makes a story meaningful.
Outside of filmmaking, I have a simple love for good food, especially sushi and poke. While weddings are the heart of my work, I also collaborate on other film projects throughout the year. Each project sharpens my craft and allows me to bring fresh perspective back into every celebration I document.
Storytelling became serious for me when life became serious. Loss, milestones, music, relationships, and personal growth shaped the way I see the world. I believe you have to live deeply to create honestly. That lived experience allows me to create films that feel real, intimate, and lasting.
